Japanese company, Omron has created a smile scanner that could rate a smile on the basis of percentage, in real-time. The device takes factors like shape of eyes, mouth, facial wrinkles into account to arrive at the desired result. Omron says this scanner can be a boon to the trainees seeking a career in the hospitality industry.

The two variants on sale are the Basic and the Trainer Pack. The Basic Pack consists of a camera and the hardware that processes the smile whereas the trainer pack includes additional training software to get that fake perfect smile.

Here’s a Japanese video explaining the gadget.
