UPDATE: The netbook is now official in US for $500.
Sony despised the netbook tag on its Vaio P but there’s no reason why we can’t say the same for the new Vaio W computer. The netbook will come in White, Pink and limited edition Brown colors and brings in what we’ve been used to see in other netbooks.
Vaio W sports a 10.1-inch 16:9 display (1,366×768 pixels), Windows XP Home OS, mosaic tile-esque touchpad, 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, webcam, MS Duo and SD/MMC card reader, Bluetooth and about 3.5 hours of battery life.
The White Vaio W will go on sale from August 8 while the Pink from August 22 at retail price of around 60,000 Yen ($630).
