Two enthusiasts Matthaus Krzykowski & Daniel Hartmann are showing a proof of concept of Google’s Android OS running on a netbook. With just four hours of toiling, the duo managed to get Android up and running on Asus Eee PC 1000H.

The point to be taken from this concept is that Android operating system on a netbook is very much possible and it now depends on Google and its OHA alliance partners when and how they want to push it.

They also said that a decent and a better prototype could be pulled out within 3 months and further around 6-9 months for mass production, making late 2009 or early 2010 to be the likely period for Android-based netbooks.

Linux and Windows XP are two extreme ends when it comes to user experience. And if Android is able to inject itself in the middle, it can drive itself to snatch some market share from Microsoft who is currently ruling the netbook (as well as the entire) OS market.
