Xreal has unveiled the Aura, its next-generation optical see-through XR glasses built in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. The device runs Android XR with Gemini integration and is powered by Qualcomm’s newly unveiled Snapdragon Reality Elite platform.
Aura weighs under 95 grams and offers a 70-degree field of view through its optical see-through frames. World-facing sensors on the frames support hand tracking, 6DoF tracking and multimodal AI experiences with user permission.
The glasses use a dual-chip, split-compute architecture. A dedicated spatial compute unit handles XR performance and power optimisation through Snapdragon Reality Elite, while the Xreal X1S Spatial Coprocessor inside the frames manages low-latency spatial display and sensor processing.
Since Aura runs Android XR, it supports Android mobile and tablet apps through the Play Store from launch, alongside more than 100 apps built specifically for XR.
Reservations for Aura are open now at $99 in the US, UK and Japan. A two-week launch offer converts that deposit into $199 of purchase credit, while a separate $299 Founder Priority Pass, limited to 2,000 units globally, guarantees launch-day delivery and includes numbered special edition hardware. Best Buy will be Xreal’s first US retail partner for the launch.
Xreal is targeting a fall launch in the US, UK, Japan, Canada and South Korea, with additional European markets to follow.
