Realme will bring India’s first Dimensity 1200-powered smartphone

At the 8th edition of MediaTek Technology Diaries today, MediaTek announced its intentions to strengthen their footprint in India and bring devices powered by their technologies through various OEM partners.

One such partner is Realme who will bring the very first smartphone in the Indian market to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 SoC. The Dimensity 1200 is their top-of-the-line chipset with 5G support.

Based on 6nm process, the Dimensity 1200 means serious performance with an octa-core CPU and clock speeds reaching up to 3GHz, making it 22% faster than the previous generation. Furthermore, the SoC comes with an ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU and six-core MediaTek APU 3.0 that results in 12.5% better performance and support for MediaTek’s HyperEngine 3.0 gaming technology that improves wireless audio and brings Ray Tracing to smartphones.

Dimensity 1200 also supports camera sensors up to 200MP in resolution along with MediaTek MiraVision HDR video playback and AV1 video decoding support.
