Anyone who’s managed to get their hands on the PS5 knows how limited the Sony’s gaming console storage is. Luckily, the April software update that will roll out tomorrow aims to solve it. Post the update, PS5 users will be able to transfer PS5 games to the USB external storage albeit with one caveat. The transferred PS5 game can’t be played directly from the external device. The reason is how PS5 games take advantage of the console’s high-speed SSD. the only way these games will be playable from another storage is via M.2 drives. However, the feature is unavailable at the moment and Sony is working on it.
Moving from the headlining feature, the new update also brings other improvements and features. For instance, there’s now cross-generation Share Play between PS4 and PS5, improved Game Base, pre-download of game updates, game library customisation, screen zoom and lots more.
