Samsung Electronics and Xiaomi worked closely to deliver first mobile image sensor above 100 million pixels. The Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX mobile image sensor offers a resolution of 108-megapixel. The image sensor adopts a large 1/1.33-inch size that can absorb more light which makes it ideal for low-light conditions. With its pixel-merging technology, Tetracell, the sensor imitates big-pixel sensors resulting in brighter 27-megapixel images. For advanced filming, the HMX supports video recording without losses in field-of-view at resolutions up to 6K (6016 x 3384 pixels) at 30-frames-per-second (fps).
Recently Samsung had announced its 0.8?m image sensor lineup with 64-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GW1 and 48-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GM2. Also Xiaomi made an announcement of a Redmi smartphone that will feature a 64-megapixel sensor to be released in Q4 2019.
