iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max

As expected, Apple introduced the new iPhone models – iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The iPhone XS takes over from last year’s iPhone X with improved performance and battery life. The iPhone XS Max, on the other hand, takes the mantle from iPhone 8 Plus with a huge display, better battery life and performance comparable to the iPhone XS.

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max come with 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch custom OLED screens respectively with Super Retina resolution support, Dolby Vision and HDR10.

They feature the same glass front and back design but now comes with IP68 rating that makes the phone dust resistant and water resistant for up to 2 meters for 30 minutes.

Powering the phone is the new Apple A12 Bionic chip that is based on 7nm process that results in faster and power efficient performance, coupled with 8-core Neural Engine for faster Face ID unlock. The battery life of the iPhone XS is slightly bumped while the iPhone XS Max gives 1.5 hours more over the iPhone X.

The new iPhones are dual-SIM now that comes with one physical SIM slot and an eSIM as the other one. China is the only market where Apple will sell the phone with two physical SIM slots.

There’s the same 12MP dual camera system at the back, OIS, 2x optical zoom, Smart HDR, improved portrait mode and now features depth control that helps to adjust the field of depth in real-time and after capture.

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will go on sale from September 21 in many markets but India will get it from September 28 in three storage options – 64GB, 256GB and 512GB at a price starting from Rs. 99,900 for the iPhone XS and from Rs. 1,09,900 for iPhone XS Max.
