Review: Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge Rockstar

June 20, 2017 By Anish Leave a Comment

Apple last year did something that surprised everyone during the launch of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. They removed the 3.5mm audio jack that has been a ubiquitous feature in a smartphone all these years. To listen to music, user either had to use a Bluetooth headset or connect earphones to the only available Lightning port. In short, you couldn’t charge and listen to music at the same time.

Realising the problem, Belkin has come up with the Lightning Audio + Charge Rockstar. As the name suggests, this nifty utility from Belkin serves a dual purpose of charging the phone and attaching earphones to listen to music. The accessory works with any device that runs iOS 10 and above.

While the Rockstar is pretty handy and pocketable, we would have appreciated if the actual accessory was smaller. Complementing Apple’s signature white colour, the small lightning cable ends with a rectangle mould that features two lighting port for connecting Stereo and charging cable.

One thing that we would like to highlight is that the Rockstar delivers power into your iPhone/iPad, and only supports Lightning audio. It does not support syncing or any other USB data. Furthermore, you cannot use Belkin Rockstar with two charging cables or two audio cables simultaneously.

Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge Rockstar is priced at Rs. 4,999 and while it maybe a bit pricey for many, its utility makes it worth the asking price.
