Sony’s PlayStation TV was announced with a lot of promise but apparently, the restrictions and lack of support didn’t bode well for the compact device. Quite recently, Sony Japan updated their website confirming that they’ve stopped the production of PS TV and will sell whatever is left in stock. Now, according to the statement issued by Sony to Tweakers, the discontinuation seems to be worldwide.
The loosely translated statement says “the purpose of the PS TV has been reached”. The PS TV was already selling at a discount in many countries and is going as low as $30 in the US or $50 with a bundle. The device could play some PlayStation Vita games as well as remote play games from PS4.
