Nvidia just now announced a recall of its Shield tablet in the United States and Canada. The company says some 88,000 units (including 5,000 in Canada) pose a fire hazard due to overheating of the battery.
Nvidia is replacing the tablet for free and if you have the tablet bearing model numbers P1761, P1761W and P1761WX and serial numbers 0410215901781 through 0425214604018, you should immediately contact Nvidia to initiate a free replacement.
