Apple updates Macbook Pro, Macbook Air with new Intel CPUs

At the Apple event today, the Macbook maker announced some hardware upgrades for its 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display and 11-inch and 13-inch Macbook Air. The updated notebooks are now fitted with Intel’s latest fifth generation Core processor, Force Touch trackpad, Intel graphics and more.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display features the all-new Force Touch trackpad that brings improved interactivity to the Mac. The trackpad features built-in force sensors that allow you to click anywhere and haptic feedback that provides a responsive and uniform feel. Force Touch trackpad even allows you to customise the amount of pressure of the trackpad and comes with a new gesture called Force Click that is followed by a deeper press. Force Click gesture can be used for tasks like pulling up the definition of a word, quickly seeing a map or glancing at a preview of a file.

Apple has also updated the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display with fifth generation Intel Core processors up to 3.1 GHz, faster integrated Intel Iris Graphics 6100, flash storage up to two times faster and 10 hours of battery life.

The 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display is available in US from $1,299 whereas the Indian pricing starts from Rs. 94,900 and goes up to 1,29,900 with faster Intel processor and 512GB SSD storage.

Macbook Air

The 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air also got a few upgrades like fifth generation Intel Core processors up to 2.2 GHz, integrated Intel HD Graphics 6000 and Thunderbolt 2. The 13-inch MacBook Air also features faster flash storage.

The 11-inch MacBook Air pricing starts from $899 (US) or Rs. 65,900 in India while the 13-inch Macbook Air starts from $999 (US) or Rs. 72, 900 in India.
