Xiaomi Redmi 1S goes on sale from Sep 2 for Rs. 5,999

Xiaomi has announced the availability of its Redmi 1S smartphone. The budget phone from China-based Xiaomi will go on sale in India exclusively through Flipkart from September 2 for Rs. 5,999. Interestingly, Xiaomi has discounted the price by Rs. 1,000 since they announced the device last month. The move can also be seen as a way to undermine Asus’ Zenfone 4 (450CG) that is on pre-order on Flipkart for the same price.

Redmi 1S boasts some meaty specs for the price, which includes a 4.7-inch display with 720p resolution support, Dual-SIM support, Android 4.3-based MIUI OS, 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8 megapixel and 1.6 megapixel cameras, FM Radio, 8GB internal memory with expandable microSD card slot and 2000mAh battery.

Interested consumers can register for the flash sale starting today from 6PM.
