Samsung reveals Gear 2 smartwatches, Gear Fit pricing for India

Samsung has also announced the pricing and availability of its Gear 2 smartwatches and Gear Fit activity tracker. The devices will be up for purchase from April 11 at a price of Rs. 21,900 for the Gear 2 while Rs. 15,900 for the Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.

Specs-wise, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are similar except for the inclusion of a 2MP camera in the Gear 2. The Gear 2 smartwatches feature 1.63-inch 320×320 Super AMOLED display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, Bluetooth 4.0, Samsung WatchON with infrared port, a 2MP camera with 720p video recording (Gear 2 only), IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. The watches also come with a heart rate sensor, pedometer, S Voice, music player, ChatON, 300mAh battery that can give upvto 3 days of run time.

Samsung Gear Fit

The Gear Fit on the other hand, features industry’s first 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED display (432×128). Samsung says Gear Fit works as a standalone device with all the pedometer, heart rate sensor, sleep tracking features or can be used as a companion device with a Samsung device that will notify users of calls, emails, messages and Smart Relay support.

The Gear Fit is also certified with IP67, making it resistant against dust and water, Bluetooth 4.0 and 210mAh battery with up to 5 days of battery life.
