LG G Flex
Looks like the battle for the best curved smartphone has officially begun. After Samsung announcing the Galaxy Round earlier this month, its archrival LG today announced their offering – the G Flex. Unlike Galaxy Round that goes for a horizontal curve, LG has opted for a vertical curve.

The device uses LG’s 6-inch OLED 720p panel that claims to offer real RGB colours and integrates quite a few features that takes advantage of the curved shape. LG says the device boasts a new UX for the curved display and comes with Swing Lockscreen that tilts the wallpaper according to the curve, Dual Window that promises to utilise the large screen and the curve for improved multi-tasking, QTheater, Face Detection Indicator, improved visual when the phone is being charged, Urgent Call Alert that blinks the red LED in case of miss calls from the same number. The G Flex also adopts G2’s features like KnockON, power and volume buttons at the back, Guest Mode and more.

On the hardware side, the phone measures 7.9 to 8.7mm in thickness depending on the curve and features LTE-A support, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, Android 4.2.2 OS, 13MP and 2MP cameras (rear and front), 32GB internal memory with microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, DMB, 24bit/192kHz audio support and 3500mAh battery. The phone also touts ‘self healing’ back that LG claims to heal the scratches, thanks to a special coating.
