Facebook just announced the Facebook Home, which could be termed as an Android launcher but brings in deeper integration of the social networking site. Facebook says Home was designed keeping people in mind, which is why you’d find it taking over your regular smartphone home screen.
Cover Feed will take over the existing lock and home screen and show users all their friends’ status updates, photos and allow them to like or comment directly on the screen.
Chat heads is really an interesting feature. It integrates your Facebook chats and SMS and gives an unobtrusive way to communicate with your friends.
Notifications that can be placed anywhere on the screen and the App Launcher that can be revealed with an upward swipe.
Home will be released on April 12 on the Play Store and will be initially compatible with HTC One X, One X+, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II.
