Apple updates iPod touch with slim design, improved performance

Apple also made way for a new iPod touch with some enhanced features and improved performance. The 6mm fifth-generation iPod touch runs the latest iOS 6 and has been upgraded hardware-wise with the new 4-inch Retina Display, Apple A5 processor, 5MP iSight camera with full HD video recording support, FaceTime, Siri and 40 hours of battery life.

The new iPod touch will arrive in October in pink, yellow, blue, white & silver, black & slate for $299 (32GB) and $399 (64GB). Apple will also sell the current (fourth) generation iPod touch in capacities of 16GB and 32GB for $199 and $249 respectively.

Apple hasn’t confirmed the Indian prices of the latest iPod touch but will sell the current generation iPod touch for Rs. 15,900 (16GB) model and Rs. 23,900 (32GB).
