Sony is set to upgrade their PlayStation 3 console next year, if the latest report from Digitimes is to be believed. The Taiwanese site cites component makers who say that Sony will start production of the PS4 by the end of this year and will launch in 2012.
The interesting part of this report is not the development part but the choice of controls, which is said to be Kinect-like. For the uninitiated, Kinect is Microsoft’s creation fo Xbox 360 that makes users act as a controller.
Sony is planning a shipment of about 20 million units with Foxconn and Pegatron Technology tipped to do the assembly.
