Android 2.3 update hitting most Samsung Galaxy devices

Here’s some good news for users using Samsung Galaxy devices. The Korean giant announced today that its Galaxy devices – Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Ace/Gio/Fit/mini will receive the Android 2.3 aka the Gingerbread update. Korean users with Galaxy S, K, U, Galaxy A and Galaxy Tab will also receive the Android 2.3 update.

The upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread will enable devices to perform faster, improve on 3D graphics and user interface, making it more intuitive than before.

Samsung says users Galaxy S users in Korea can expect the update from tomorrow whereas UK and Nordic countries will get after that followed by other regions.

There’s no ETA about the update on other devices.
