Sprint’s event yesterday showed off an Android phone featuring two touchscreen displays. The phone known as Kyocera Echo features two 3.5-inch touchscreen displays (800×480 pixels) and the specialty of it is that both the displays can work independently or as one, according to user’s preference.
In short, you can check your email on one screen while surfing the web on another under ‘Simul-Task’ mode or use it as a 4.5-inch (800×960 pixels) device (measured diagonally) under ‘Tablet’ mode. The phone also has an optimized mode where a single app utilizes both the screen — like watching youtube videos on one screen and queuing more vids on the other.
As far as other features go, the phone runs on android 2.2 OS and comes with 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, 1GB internal memory with microSD card slot up to 32GB and 1370mAh battery.
The phone will be available from spring at Sprint for $199.99 on contract and $100 mail-in rebate.
