Google brings Check-in feature to Google Latitude

Google has brought the latest fad in location-based services – Check-in feature to Google Latitude. Available on Google Maps 5.1 for Android, users will now be able to check-in to their favorite places as well as earn special statuses for checking into at frequented places.

Few things that Latitude differentiates from other services like Foursquare is that it allows automatic check-ins, notification to check-in at a particular place, check-out once you’re done and earn special statuses like Regular, VIP or Guru.

You can start using the new feature with Google Maps app for Android or use the Latitude app if you use an iOS device.
