LG’s planned App Store will open from tomorrow but users from Singapore and Australia can register and download applications right away. According to the release, LG will initially launch the store in Malaysia and other Asian countries where users will get around 1400 applications to choose from. The initial figure of 1400 apps sounds impressive but the fact is that the application downloads redirects to a Handango server, at least for the free apps.
The only benefit I can see for the store right now is that the user with specific LG phones will be able to get the apps without scouring it on other mobile software sites.
Anyways, LG plans to expand their store to around 24 countries by the end of this year and also increase the number of apps to more than 2,000.
