Acer Android-Windows netbook could be announced in August

July 13, 2009 By Kinjal Sangoi 2 Comments

Acer Android Netbook

We already knew Acer will be offering its Android netbook installed with Windows OS but the new report claims it will be sooner than expected. The dual OS, Android-Windows XP netbook is expected to be announced next month. The report by Apple Daily also says that the price of such netbooks won’t be lowered as Acer’s Windows XP licensing fees are still due.

Earlier last month, Acer showed what the Android OS on a netbook is capable of. Looks promising, which is why other manufacturers are also cooking their iterations of Android netbooks.

The beauty is that you would have both. If you want/need to use Windows, you can. Otherwise, Android offers you the benefits of fast boot & runtime, super long battery life, touch-optimized UI, location-based services, cell phone calls, SMS/MMS, multi-media playback, and access to all the other cool apps in the Android Market.
