Dell Vostro 1220 gets official in Japan

The recently leaked Vostro 1220 has got an official acknowledgement in the land of the rising sun. The new model upgrades over Vostro 1200 in terms of performance, aesthetics as well as weight. The 1.52kg 1220 notebook is now powered by GM45 chipset with choices of Core 2 Duo (P8600 2.4GHz) or Celeron (2.2GHz) processor, 12.1-inch WXGA display with an option of going for a non-glossy display, 160GB HDD, up to 2GB HDD, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB 2.0, ExpressCard slot, DVD burner, 1.3MP webcam, memory card reader, fingerprint reader, Windows XP Pro OS and 4-cell battery. An optional 6-cell battery is also available that ups the total runtime to up to 9 hours.

It will come in red and black colors with a starting price of 79,980 Yen ($837).
