At the SID Display Week, Samsung showed a color e-paper that was also capable of displaying moving pictures with the help of a switch. Samsung’s active matrix panel was created with the help of cholesteric liquid crystal and used a mysterious switch to turn into memory mode to function as a normal e-paper or dynamic mode to display running images.
The display is still in prototype stages and supports a 320×240 pixels resolution, 64 colors and a response time of 25ms or less.
