Intel’s been pushing hard with its Atom processors and the latest leak confirms that the new Atom chip will enable netbooks and the likes to run faster. The Z550 from the Z-Series achieves a clock speed of 2GHz at just 2.4W which is the same even for a 1.86MHz chip. The chip has a 512KB L2 cache and 533MHz FSB.
Another Atom chip to be leaked is Z515, an ultra-low powered chip. It is targeted towards smaller hardware devices and with its dynamic power scaling, the processor can reach at 1.2GHZ at just 1.4W or run at 800MHz while consuming only 0.65W.
