8X BD burners from Buffalo and Sony arrive in US

After being unveiled in Japan, it was time for US to get Buffalo’s speedy BD internal and external writers. The MediaStation 8X writers will sell in US from this month at prices of $350 for the internal one and $400 for external.

A day later, Sony also introduced their BWU-300S 8X Blu-Ray internal writer for the US market. As other 8X writers, this one can also burn 25GB BD Disc in just 15 minutes or less than half an hour for 50GB. The drive is pegged to sell at $400 with bundled Blu-Ray movie, Men in Black. Sony is taking pre-orders for now but will be available from next month.
