These two cameras, SD990 IS and SD880 IS were the lasts ones to be launched by Canon. They have tried to integrate all the important photography features packed in a stylish casing. The only differences between both the models are its megapixel count, optical zoom and the LCD screen size. SD990 IS boasts 14.7 megapixel with 3.7x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD. On the other hand, SD880 IS has 10 megapixel which is lesser than SD990 IS but scores on the optical zoom and LCD size front which are 4x and 3-inch respectively.
Both the cameras have Canon’s DIGIC 4 imaging processor which means there won’t be much difference in the picture processing area. Features like face/motion tracking technology, Servo AF, image stabilizer and intelligent contrast correction are present.
The cameras will retail from October at a price of $400 for SD990 IS and $300 for SD880 IS.
