Samsung gifts 1000 phones to Chinese Olympians

Samsung Electronics who is the official wireless communication partner for this year’s Beijing Olympics has gifted 1000 G618 Olympic to Chinese Olympians. The phones carry Olympic themed ringtones and wallpapers and will be the official phone for China. Considering from the marketing perspective, these phones wouldn’t have cost them much as the ROI will be more in terms of brand recall and brand value. With this agreement, Samsung can use an athlete photo for promoting their products and also oblige Chinese gold medalists to visit their PR center for a signature event.
