SCE UK has announced the PS3 price for the UK gamers. The 60GB PS3 will cost £425 ($803) as compared to the US price which is $599. The Managing Director of SCE UK, Rat Maguire thinks its a cheap buy considering the PS3 comes with a Blu-Ray player which costs £600-700.
Maguire admitted the 60GB PS3’s price was not “mass market”, and again stressed the machine would nonetheless be the cheapest way to buy into Blu-ray. It’s clear from Maguire’s comments that Sony sees the 60GB PS3 more as a cut-price AV system for early HD adopters.
