HTC is sprucing up the smartphone market with the announcement of HTC One M8 in India. The unibody phone from HTC will sell in India for Rs. 49,900, making it in the same price range of Samsung’s Galaxy S5.
Interesting thing about the Indian variant of the HTC One M8 is that it will support Indian LTE 4G bands, which will be activated later on through a software update.
As for the rest of the features, the HTC One M8 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and boasts two UltraPixel cameras at the back (aka Duo Camera) along with 5MP on the front. The Duo Camera also has a depth sensor and software enhancements like UFocus that allows to change the focus after the image has been captured, Dimension Plus that gives a “unique perspective” of the captured image from a different angle by simply tilting the screen, 300ms autofocus speed and HD Slow Motion mode. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest Sense 6 UI, louder BoomSound, improved BlinkFeed, pre-loaded Fitbit app that uses the phone’s sensor hub, Sense TV, Motion Launch and power saving mode.
HTC One M8 does look good on paper but the Taiwanese company have an uphill task to take on Samsung and with their financial schemes that sometimes heavily discount the price of their devices.
HTC will also sell the Dot Case for the One M8 for Rs. 2,499.
