Google introduces Android Wear platform for wearables

Wearable devices have got a major push as Google announced their Android-powered platform for wearable devices. Dubbed as Android Wear, the platform will initially target watches that will enable users to get the useful information on their wrist through Google Now, search for things by saying “Ok Google” and even take advantage of the fitness apps.

If you’re a developer, Google has released a developer preview that can be used to tailor the app to show notifications on watches powered by Android Wear.

Android Wear-powered watches will come out later this year but Google has confirmed to be working with LG, Motorola, Samsung, Asus, HTC and even Fossil.
