Apple lists 16GB iPod touch with 4-inch Retina Display, dual-core A5 CPU

Apple quietly listed a new 16GB iPod touch model on its online store for $229. The new iPod touch will replace the 4th-generation iPod touch and features a 4-inch Retina Display, a dual-core A5 CPU and Apple EarPods.

The new iPod touch interestingly, does not have a lanyard loop or the back-facing camera but still sports a front-facing 1.2 megapixel cam for FaceTime videos. Rest of the features remain unchanged.

Do note that the 5th-generation iPod touch is still on sale that comes in 32GB and 64GB capacity along with a 5MP rear-facing camera.
