Google has announced that they’ve razed the virtual storage wall that separated the storage between Gmail, Drive and Google Photos+. Originally, Gmail was allotted 10GB of storage while Drive and Google Photos+ shared 5GB of the space. But from now on, Google has combined the all three and a user will collectively get 15GB that can be shared amongst all three services. This is good news for users who have used almost all the space in Gmail as they get few gigabytes more from the Drive and vice versa.
Alternatively, enterprise users will be treated with a total storage of 30GB as opposed to 25GB.
Google will roll out the changes in the next couple of weeks.
