Toshiba unveils Blade X-gale SSD series

Toshiba has introduced a new SSD series that offers the advantages of a high-performance SSD in a very compact form factor. The Blade X-gale SSDs are just 2.2mm thick and comes in capacities ranging from 64GB to 256GB.

These RAM-like modules can be a boon to computers that are restrictive in space. Despite the small size, the MLC-based Blade X-gale SSDs boast a maximum sequential read/write speed of 220/180 MB per second.

To give a better perspective, these new SSDs are 42 percent thinner than conventional mSATA SSDs.
