Toshiba announces 512GB SSD, 43nm smaller capacity SSDs

Toshiba’s proud moment has come as they are showing the world, their latest development in the SSD scene. Toshiba and its American subsidiary TAEC have announced that they have developed industry’s first 2.5-inch 512GB SSD. The drive features Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NAND and will be exhibited on the CES show floor next year.

Apart from the 512GB SSD launch, Toshiba also announced new 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch SSDs fabricated on 43nm technology, These drives will come in capacities of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and boasts a read/write speed of 240/200 Mbps. It also has AES data encryption.

Samples of the drives will be available in the first quarter while the mass production is slated to initiate in the second quarter.
