Apple announced a few things at the Back to the Mac event today, including the new iLife 11 suite. This year’s upgrade is said to bring major improvements, especially in the iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand apps.
The iPhoto 11 now adopts a full screen mode by default, making it easy to edit and view the photos. Furthermore, it has made sharing photos more easy as it can email photos or upload them directly to Facebook right within the app, has improved slideshow themes and more.
iMovie 11 adds one of the most interesting feature – Trailers. Users can now select from 15 different genres to create a Hollywood-style trailer of their videos. It also adds the ability to edit audio more efficiently, add new visual effects and People Finder that analyzes a person’s face in the video and finds them instantly.
GarageBand 11 adds two important features to change or fix the timing of the recording. Flex Time allows musicians to stretch or cut individual notes or with Groove Matching, they can select a particular track as the Groove Track and will make other tracks match its groovy feel. GarageBand also adds new lessons for piano and guitar and “How Did I Play?” feature that analyzes the instrument played and points out the mistakes in real time.
iLife 11 is shipping for free with every new Mac or will go for just $49 as an upgrade option.
