Symbian Foundation has confirmed that Lee Williams, Executive Director of the organization has stepped down from his position, effective immediately. The reason stated for the resignation is for “personal reasons” but considering the current state of Symbian OS in the market, the actual reason could be much more than personal.
Tim Holbrow, Symbian Foundation’s CFO will succeed Williams who was managing the operations since the inception of the open-source foundation.
The most recent smartphone to be powered by Symbian OS is Nokia N8 and despite N8’s beefy hardware, the phone has failed to attract attention due to the underlying OS.
