HP completes acquisition of Palm

HP has announced that they’ve completed acquisition of Palm, which they had bought in April for $1.2 billion or $5.70 per share in cash.
HP plans to leverage Palm’s intellectual properties and its feature-rich webOS to smartphones and other mobile devices where Jon Rubenstein, former CEO of Palm will now oversee development of webOS platform and webOS-equipped products. HP wants to bring webOS smartphones, tablets and netbooks in the near future.
