While most smartphones these days have CPU speeds reaching up to 1GHz, Motorola’s decision to go with a 550MHz CPU and 256MB RAM for Milestone XT720 was a bit strange. But the good news now is that Motorola has decided to give the phone a worthy upgrade before it hits the retail channels. The phone’s developer page on Motorola states that XT720 will feature Cortex A8-based TI OMAP3440 running at a clock speed of 720MHz and RAM of 512MB. Rest of the features however, remain the same.

The phone will arrive in Europe later this month.
