After a series of leaks, Samsung has made the I5500 official in Italy. It will be sold as Corby Smartphone making it the first Corby device to run a proper smartphone OS. The phone runs on Android 2.1 OS and comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, 3G, quad-band GSM, 600MHz Application CPU, 2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, Android market and other Google services access, social networking widgets, 1200mAh battery and microSD card slot supporting up to 16GB.
The phone is targeted at the masses and carries a 199 euro price tag. It will arrive in mid-June on TIM and Wind.
