Russia has planned a space program to send astronauts to Mars. And while it’s not feasible to send a manned flight to Mars without understanding the impact on the astronauts, they’ve initiated Mars-500 project where the said astronauts will live in a sealed-environment for the next 520 days with the conditions similar to Mars.
The drill however, goes one step further and will make use of 3D virtual reality. All the astronauts will be equipped with a Nvidia 3D Vision laptop that will simulate physical environment like gravity, light levels and atmospheric dust as well as help them experience the three stages of the project like travelling to the Red Planet, working on the Martian surface for 30 days and return to the Earth.
