Toshiba has created a display that can zoom in or out on bending the panel. The display prototype was showcased at the SID expo last week where it was demoed with Google Earth being used to zoom in and out without effort.
The LCD panel uses a bend sensor that is located at the end of the backlighting unit. Bending the panel triggers the sensor to change resistance value and with the corresponding software created by Toshiba, the display panel zooms in and out.
The display measures 8.4-inches and has a resolution of 800×600 pixels (SVGA).
