Fujitsu has developed a new color e-paper that is touted to give the best color image quality. Fujitsu’s e-paper project team achieved it by redesigning the panel structure completely and image re-write methods. With the new technology in place, the color e-paper boasts reflective property that helps the e-paper to be bright by 1.3 times as compared to Fujitsu’s previous colored e-paper solution. There’s an improvement in the contrast ratio, which is now 7:1 and 2 times smoother re-writing of the an image with XGA resolution (1024×768).

Fujitsu plans to commercialize the display this fall for the Japanese market.
