Indian consumers waiting to switch their cellular operators will have to wait few months more. The Government has delayed (yet again!) the launch of Mobile Number Portability that would allow users to change the operator without losing their number.
The MNP was to be implemented today but since concerned operators failed to complete the tests before the launch, the government was compelled to delay and commanded operators to complete tests as soon as possible.
All the tests are expected to be completed by May 15 and operators failing to do so, could face some penalties.
Government is eyeing June 30 as the MNP launch date.
