At the Acer Liquid launch, we also had the chance to play with the phone for quite some time and it sure looked and performed nicely. The phone runs the stock version of Android and the only customization Acer has done is integrating few apps like bringing the connectivity menu on the home screen for quicker access and Spinlets app for anytime music streaming. The 3.5-inch WVGA screen is a treat but mind you, it’s a fingerprint magnet. As for HD videos, it ran smoothly without any lag despite its lower clocked CPU.
I think the phone is well placed amongst other current Android offerings and could give the current Android leader, HTC Hero (at least in India) a run for its money.

I would rather buy the Nexus One, whn it will arrive in India.

There is nothing new about this phone. Design is old, functions still the same.
Good luck!
