The next-gen iPhone will have a 5MP camera if the latest report from Digitimes is to be believed. The Taiwanese site claims that OmniVision Technologies has been handed a large CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) order from Apple. The order is for the 5MP camera sensors that will be fitted in the next-gen iPhone, due in sometime in the second half of 2010.
However, the legitimacy of this report can be questioned since a similar 5MP camera rumor had surfaced back in April but we’re yet to see an Apple device with such sensor.
On another note, adding extra mega pixels in the iPhone is good but I would like to see flash and other features that would help enhance photo quality.
