iPhone with 3.2MP sensor and an unknown 5MP Apple device in the works

Renowned Taiwanese rumor monger has published a news report which makes a perfect piece for yet another juicy iPhone rumor. According to them, OmniVision has grabbed an Apple order for providing a 3.2MP CMOS image sensor for the next iPhone variant. This claim isn’t that surprising because an evolved iPhone with a higher resolution camera would be a logical move.

However, here’s the surprising part. The report also mentions that OmniVision has also got orders for providing 5 megapixel sensors for an unnamed Apple device. I am not sure but it could be for a netbook, tablet or even a 3G iPod Touch.

  1. The Apple rumor mill is once again running overtime on the topic of netbooks. If you believe the reports, Steve Jobs is himself leading the charge. My take: Whatever Apple does, it won?t be a netbook in the usual sense, I also bet that Apple, if it does anything, will itself avoid using the n-word to describe it.
