LG, Samsung, Sony Pictures and Valens Semiconductor have come together to form the HDBaseT alliance. It’s a cross-industry alliance to promote HDBaseT technology that will allow users to watch uncompressed HD video (full HD), audio as well as internet on their HDTVs using a simple CAT5e cable.
The alliance wants to standardize the tech, helping to reduce number of cables and connectors and effectively reducing the overall system cost.
Check out the video below from Valens explaining the HDBaseT tech. The alliance will be there at the CES 2010 where more details are expected to be revealed.
