Peek Inc.’s Peek Email-only device might not justify its worth in US but Peek’s entry to the European market makes some sense.
Peek Email device will be launched in partnership with European Wi-Fi operator, Fon as PeekFon. Now according to Fon’s CEO, a device like Peek can be more practical in EU because of high roaming charges. He claims checking mails on phone could result in high charges as a consumer can “easily pay in a day what the Peek will cost in a month”.
To make the deal more lucrative, Fon promises to add functionalities like a browser, twitter etc in the coming months.
PeekFon will sell in Europe from December 15 for 99 euros with a 6 month free service, after which a user can pay 12.90 euro/month to continue.
